RECYCLING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Your family may be recycling already, but what do you do with it?

Turn it into a college savings account and receive a MATCHING SCHOLARSHIP from Recycling For College!

How the Recycling Scholarship Program Works:

  • Our Recycling Scholarship Program provides college funding at no cost.
  • Participants collect bottles and cans and take them to a certified recycling center for the cash redemption value.
  • Participants deposit their recycling earnings into a 529 College Savings Account
  • RFC grants scholarship awards to each participant for the amount the student has earned from recycling.

How Recycling Savings Grows:

An average family produces about $20 per month worth of recycling value. When that money is deposited into a 529 college savings account, families are able to build college savings without actually saving any of their own income.

Participants are encouraged to treat this program as a fundraiser for their college savings by asking family, friends and neighbors to donate their recyclable materials, or the proceeds from recycling redemption value, to contribute to the Participant’s college savings account. By having 4 additional recycling sponsors, a student can increase their earning potential to $100 per month.
